South Plains Food Bank

Lubbock, Texas

Industrial + Warehouse
Civic and Community

The South Plains Food Bank was funded by the generous support of the late J.T. and Margaret Talkington. It is comprised of 31,384 square feet of office and support spaces plus 35,057 square feet of freezer, cooler, and dry storage warehouse space. The project received a 2017 AIA Lubbock Honorable Mention Award.

During the design phase, there was a primary focus on the demonstration kitchens, meeting spaces, volunteer support spaces and a covered drive-thru for pick up orders. The new South Plains Food Bank facility has substantially increased the SPFB’s ability to provide meals to those in need in Lubbock and the surrounding areas.
